Clonmacnoise Cathedral, north doorway. Here the Saint is flanked by saints Dominic and Francis, all identified by an inscription on the cornice above. Patrick’s association with these two European saints is a reflection of the increased influence of the mendicant orders on Irish diocesan affairs.
